Tam Kwok Wai

Dr. Tam Kwok Wai is the Principal of the Secondary Section of Gifted (Yeung Yan Yau Tai) College and a leader of the Gifted Education Association. In an interview with *Ta Kung Pao*, he stated that “giftedness” should not be solely judged by academic performance; talents in physical abilities, arts, and other areas also deserve attention. The school offers compulsory courses such as “Talent Classes” and “Acceleration Classes,” with students selected through multiple intelligence assessments and interviews. He emphasizes teaching science in an engaging manner, promoting the educational philosophy of “multiple intelligences and individualized instruction,” and believes that gifted education is vital for Hong Kong’s competitiveness. The school has established sister school partnerships with gifted schools in South Korea, Japan, and other regions to provide exchange opportunities.
